Audio Storytelling
These examples are "audio wraps" that I reported and edited for my Audio Storytelling cast. They are NPR style news stories.
The Challenger is newspaper distributed in Austin, Texas that is written and distributed entirely by the homeless community. The paper gives the street community a chance to voice their opinion, and for every article submitted, the author receives 10 free papers that they sell and keep the profits from.
Not On My Campus is a student lead movement to end the silence surrounding sexual assault. The movement started at the University of Texas and has spread to many college campuses and high schools worldwide.
BDS or Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions is a global campaign targeting Israel, attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to end the occupation in the West Bank. This movement made its way to the UT campus in 2015, which caused a lot of turmoil between students on campus. Two groups "Unify Texas" and "Texas Divest" are fighting to prove their sides of the story.
Shabbat 500 is a Shabbat dinner experience planned by students, for students. As said in the title, the dinner aims to bring at least 500 students and faculty to the recreation center on campus for a giant dinner celebration. Students hope that the event will bring jws of all sects together.
